I think klipeh is right, if you added some background it shall be good. Things like backgrounds are important.

I never cared about stuff like that, it's just supposed to be fun to play on (for multiple rounds). I wanted to continue the work, but was just outta ideas.

Looks like a good map skeleton to me, perhaps you should decide on a theme and add a background with some more details to the platforms themselves too.
